If that doesn't work, then an update probably messed this up and bring this to Valve's attention by writing on steamhardwarefeedbackvalvesoftwarecom. If a restart doesn't fix it, switch clients (stable to beta / beta to stable) and try again. Try searching for that thread to see the specifics.
Now, i don't own a Mac, but the people i talked to in that thread reported that this indeed fixed it, but i don't know what OS version they had or any other info. The oldest trick in the book, to completely shut down your computer and start it up again.
